Weight neutral health coaching and guidance supports energy, fitness, nutrition, and wellbeing.

Tired of starting over every Monday?

If you’ve lost the same few kilos more than once, the problem isn’t your willpower — it’s the method. Most weight loss programs rely on motivation and rigid rules, and these go out the window the moment life gets busy. The plan collapses, and you’re back to square one, feeling like you failed.

There’s a better way, and the research is clear on it: lasting change comes from changing behaviour, not from following stricter rules. That’s the entire focus of our coaching.

Behaviour change: the difference between knowing and doing

Most people already know they should eat more vegetables and less ultra-processed, nutrient replete, food.

Knowledge isn’t the gap — doing it consistently is. Our nutrition coaching closes that gap by building one sustainable habit at a time, so the right choice gradually becomes the easy choice.

Instead of strict diets, you’ll work with us week by week to understand your current patterns, adjust them in small and realistic ways, and stay consistent long enough for new habits to stick. No cutting out food groups. No unrealistic, time-consuming to-do lists or two hour work outs. Just steady progress you can actually maintain after the coaching ends.

Evidence-based nutrition, not another fad

Nutrition is full of noise: detoxes, “superfoods”, and whatever the latest social media trend is selling this week.

We cut through all of it. Every recommendation we make is grounded in current nutrition science and tailored to you, so you spend your energy only on the things that genuinely move the needle.

You’ll work directly with an MNU-certified nutritionist. Mac-Nutrition Uni delivers a UK-regulated Diploma in Advanced Nutrition Science, with a strong focus on evidence-based nutrition, behaviour change, and practical coaching for non-clinical health, fitness, and wellbeing settings. That means honest, science-first advice with no hidden agenda and nothing to sell you except results.

If you are on a weight loss medication like Wegovy, we help you to make sure that your nutrition and exercise approaches will support the best possible outcomes, particularly to support muscle and bone density

Online nutrition coaching, anywhere in New Zealand

Busy schedule? Online coaching and exercise is one of the most effective and convenient ways to reach your goals. You get the same personalised, professional support from wherever you are — whether you’re after a nutritionist in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, or a smaller town in between.

The benefits of nutrition and exercise coaching include:

• It’s shown to deliver better results than nutrition information alone

• Coaching from any location, around your schedule, including in app support

• Consistent, ongoing guidance and accountability

• Advice personalised to your body, lifestyle, and goals

• Clear progress tracking so you can see what’s working

• Skills that teach you to change habits instead of relying on willpower

• Better cardiometabolic health, reduced risk of sarcopenia and osteoporosis,  and, in high-risk groups, lower risk of conditions such as type 2 diabetes.

• Can be a fraction of the lifetime cost of weight-loss medications like Wegovy, although we always defer to your doctor to help you make the best decision for you. If you do decide to opt for a weight loss medication, we will help you to ensure you remain well nourished.

Meet Kaya — your MNU-certified nutritionist and exercise coach

At Science x Art Nutrition, you’ll work directly with Kaya, an MNU Certified Nutritionist and qualified Personal Trainer.

More than a nutritionist, Kaya works as a holistic health and wellness coach, combining evidence-based nutrition guidance with a practical understanding of exercise and everyday lifestyle habits, so your plan reflects how you really live, not how a textbook assumes you live.

Her philosophy is simple: nutrition should fit into your life, not take it over. Kaya’s coaching focuses on helping you build sustainable habits, improve your relationship with food, and feel genuinely confident making informed nutrition decisions on your own.

What to expect when you work with us

We start with a thorough consultation covering your goals, lifestyle, medical background, food preferences, and the challenges that have tripped you up before. As a trusted nutritionist serving Auckland and all of New Zealand, we take the time to understand your individual circumstances before recommending anything.

From there, we build a custom nutrition plan to get you started on the right track. Your nutrition coaching package can include:

• An initial nutritional assessment

• Goal-setting sessions

• Customised, evidence-based nutrition advice

• Regular feedback on your progress

• Genuine accountability between sessions

• Proven habit-forming approaches

• An anti-stress approach.

We guide and adjust with you every step of the way as you move towards your goals.

Frequently asked questions

Such as motivational interviewing, self-determination theory, utilisation of the readiness to change continuum, action planning, self-monitoring, repeated practice, feedback, and routine building.

No. While many of our clients search for a nutritionist in Auckland, all of our coaching is delivered online, so you can work with us from anywhere in New Zealand, be that Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, or a place in between!

Both work in nutrition, but the titles are regulated differently in New Zealand. Our coaching is led by an MNU-certified nutritionist and focuses on evidence-based behaviour change for goals like body composition, energy, performance, and a healthier relationship with food. Dietitians can work with simple lifestyle cases too, but they have a greater scope of practice which also includes complex medical conditions. If you have a clinical condition that needs medical nutrition therapy, we'll always refer you to the right registered professional. We can even help you to understand and implement their advice in real life.

Every recommendation is grounded in current, peer-reviewed nutrition science rather than trends or anecdote. We'll also be honest with you where there isn't strong evidence, and we're making recommendations based on experience or psychological frameworks.

MNU is publicly endorsed by doctors, registered dietitians, lecturers, and nutrition researchers globally for its evidence-based, practical approach to nutrition coaching — so you can trust that your plan is built on what actually works.

Intermittent fasting works for some people as one way to manage how much they eat — but it isn't magic, and it isn't right for everyone. Like any tool, it only helps if it fits your life and you can stick with it long-term. We never push a one-size-fits-all rule. Learn more about intermittent fasting on our blog.

Nutrition plays a central role in managing insulin resistance and PCOS, and many people report that an evidence-based, realistic diet can make a meaningful difference to energy, weight, and symptoms. We build an eating strategy around your circumstances — and we'll always work alongside your doctor or specialist, who will be the providers of any medical care.

Absolutely. Menopause changes how your body handles energy, appetite, and body composition, so the approach that worked in your thirties may need updating. Rather than a restrictive 'menopause diet', we help you adjust your nutrition and habits sustainably to support your energy, strength, and weight through this stage of life.

No. Kaya is an MNU-certified Nutritionist with a Diploma in Advanced Nutrition Science, recognised under the Regulated Qualifications Framework (UK), not a naturopath. Many people search for a naturopath because they want a natural, lifestyle-based approach to health. This is exactly what evidence-based nutritionists do, except they recommend only interventions that have been established through rigorous peer reviewed scientific evidence.

Hair analysis, IgG blood panel food intolerance testing, detoxes, restrictive 'clean eating' approaches, and many expensive supplement protocols are not evidence based. In some cases these can cause significant harm to your health – including liver toxicity, IBS-like symptoms, and unnecessary food anxiety or disordered eating patterns.

Science x Art Nutrition offers the same whole-person focus on food, habits, energy, training, sleep, and long-term wellbeing, but through evidence-based nutrition coaching grounded in current science.

A meal plan tells you what to eat for a few weeks; behaviour-change coaching teaches you how to make good decisions for the rest of your life. Rather than handing you rigid rules, we help you build sustainable habits so the results last long after we stop working together.

Many clients notice changes in energy and confidence within the first few weeks. Because we prioritise sustainable habits over rapid restriction, the bigger wins like body composition, consistency, and a genuinely easier relationship with food build steadily over the following months and, importantly, tend to stick.

Coaching is an investment in skills you keep for life, and it's typically far cheaper over time than ongoing weight-loss medication.

Most people will do well on our standard $99 per week plan, but we recommend booking your free consultation to discuss your needs. Those needing less support can work with us for as little as $69 per week, and we can also develop a bespoke wrap around arrangement customised to your circumstances.
